I occasionally enjoy surfing yahoo answers and lawn forums to see what kinds of questions people are asking about lawns. One of the most common misconceptions I see is people claiming that watering your lawn in the middle of the day will cause it to 'burn' the grass. This is entirely false! The only reason you would not want to water in the middle of the day is to avoid water loss through evaporation. If you water at night, then you leave your lawn open for disease especially in cold, humid weather. The best time to water your lawn is early in the morning. This prevents evaporation and allows the lawn to dry out before night time reducing the chance for disease.
